I Need Your Feedback

Most of you have seen my Real Estate related posts here on Facebook.  These come through to Facebook from my blog.

My concern is that these posts have the appearance of prospecting for business.  In fact, the posts are meant to be informative, rather than intrusive.  I write my blog to inform clients about what's going on in the Real Estate industry.

What do you think - do you mind the blog posts showing up on my Facebook wall, or would you rather I keep them separate?  Give me your honest feedback.

Clients always ask me: Are you on the web?
See for yourself.

Tim,

Don't forget you can do a FAN page for your real estate items and offer them to your friends who wish to be FANS rather than your friends who might not want to see you're blog all the time.

Business and friends do not always mix

Tim,

Let me know what your facebook friends say!  I do the same thing and sometimes wonder if my friends are put off by the real estate information being shared online.

Thanks guys for the feedback. I was going to do a fan page but after me and my trusty assistant checked how many people actually read them I felt it wasnt worth it.

Tim,

It is refreshing to see someone concerned with being intrusive when it comes to posting real estate information on a profile page. I have decided to use a business page for several reasons. It is "opt in" so my posts only show up in the stream of friends who wish to read about real estate. It is public, so it is indexed and found in searches. While you may think more people are reading your posts on your profile page, how do you know they haven't hidden you in their stream because they don't want to read it? Are you starting conversations and getting feedback? Are you talking with people or at them?

And perhaps the most important reason for having a business page is that posting too much real estate information violates the facebook TOS for selling on a profile page. I have heard that people have had their profile pages removed. Your posts, pictures, friends, etc. would all be gone. Kinda scary if you've put alot of work into it.

I'll be interested to see what you decide and the feedback you get from your readers.
