Single Family Homes districted for Howard High School.  Centennial High School and Howard High School both made Newsweek's 2010 America's Top High Schools List, which ranked the schools based on 'how hard school staffs work to challenge students with advanced-placement college-level courses and tests'.

If you are looking for a home districted for either Centennial High School or Howard High School in Howard County, you will find that the homes districted for Centennial High School will be in the more expensive price range of $450,000 and higher.  You may find a home that is less than that, but they will be few and far between.

If you are looking for Howard High School homes, you will find you actually have many options for less than $450,000.  Finding Howard High School homes can be a challenge, however, because of the way that the Howard County Public High School System creates the attendance area maps .

You can see from the map that Howard High School homes are located in Elkridge, Columbia, and Ellicott City.  These homes will vary in price, age and condition.  The homes may be older, but the nicest properties will feature many updates to the roof, heating, cooling, kitchens and bathrooms.

The best way to find a Howard High School Home is to first search by zip code:  21045, 21075 and 21043.  Then, you can use the Howard County Public School System's School Locator tool to find out if any of the homes on your search results are districted for Howard High School.

Unfortunately, there is no easier way to search for Howard High School Homes.  Many agents do not take the time to list the schools in the Multiple List Service, and limiting your search by school, neighborhood or even city may leave homes off of your list.

Rockburn Township is a small community of single family homes located off Montgomery Road in Ellicott City, MD.  The community is consists of approximately 200 homes on various cul de sacs off Rockburn Drive.  The lots are large in this newer community, with most being more than quarter of an acre in size.  Most homes are less than 20 years old, and are two stories with basements and 3 to 5 bedrooms.

 

 

 

 

Rockburn Township is within walking distance to Rockburn Branch Park, a 415 acre wooded recreational area that offers sporting fields, a playground, 7 ½ miles of walking trails, Pavilions, Restrooms and a free 18 hole disc golf course.  The park is home to Fall Hay Rides, a Haunted House, an Annual Easter Egg Hunt, and numerous other community events throughout the year.  Also located within the park is Pfeiffer's Corner School, a restored one-room schoolhouse constructed in 1883.

Homes in Rockburn Township are located within the Howard County Public School System and are currently districted for Rockburn Elementary School, Bonnie Branch Middle School and Howard High School.  School rating information for Howard County Public Schools can be found at greatschools.net.  School districting can change from year to year, and should always be independently verified with the school district.  Howard County has a very useful School and Bus Locator tool.

Other area amenities include the public Timbers at Troy Golf Course, located just a quick drive away on Marshalee Drive.  Convenient everyday shopping can be found at Lyndwood Square, also located off Marshalee Drive.

Long Gate is within an easy walking distance to Long Gate Shopping Center.  Among the shops you will find a Target, Safeway, Barnes and Noble, Old Navy, Kohls, Michaels, Staples, Hallmark, Safeway and more - all of your shopping in one convenient center.  The Shopping Center also has a Carrabas Italian Grill, an Outback Steakhouse, Pizzeria Uno, McDonalds, and Kentucky Fried Chicken for a variety of dining options.  There's also a gas station which truly makes this shopping center a one stop destination.  Of course, if the shopping center doesn't have what you are looking for, you are just a short drive down 29 to the Mall of Columbia.

Also located within walking distance is Meadowbrook Park.  Opened just four years ago in 2006, the park has a large playground with play areas for tots and older children of all abilities, basketball courts, tennis courts, 3 pavilions, numerous sports fields, 2.5 miles of walking trails and ample parking.  In addition, Howard County Parks and Recreation recently opened the brand new, state of the art, 35,000 square foot Meadowbrook Athletic Complex which offers a home to indoor leagues for volleyball, basketball, soccer, in-line hockey, and lacrosse for all ages.

We've had some crazy thunderstorms lately here in Howard County, Maryland.  Unfortunately, my neighbor had two trees come down.  The good part?  The two trees fell between her house and our other neighbors' home.  The not so good part is that one of the limbs caught the rear corner of her house.  Fortunately, no one was hurt and there wasn't much damage.

I don't know what type of home owner's insurance she has, but I have to hand it to them, this having happened last night at 7pm.  This crane was out front by 9 am this morning.  That's service!
