New Homes in Catonsville - New Construction - What Do You Have to Choose From?  If you're looking for a new home in Catonsville, first of all - you have to decide - what does ‘new' mean?  For you, does ‘new' mean that the home has never been lived in, or does it mean that a home has been built within the past six months?

It really depends on what matters most to you, but because of what has happened in the Real Estate Market recently, there are many homes that have never been lived in that were built up to two years ago.  So if you are searching for a new homes in Catonsville, and are limiting your search to homes built in 2009 or 2010, you may be missing some great homes!!!

Patapsco Falls Townhomes in Catonsville, MD - Historic Living with Modern Convenience.  Located just over the Howard County line in Baltimore County, Patapsco Falls has a mix of Historic Single Family Homes, Old Mill Renovated Rowhomes, and newer Townhomes.  A hiker's and mountain biker's dream, this location offers endless trails through the Patapsco Valley State Park, and is within easy walking distance to the Trolley Trail and Historic Ellicott City.  This small community is centrally located between Catonsville and Ellicott City, with easy access to local commuter routes as well as less congested back roads.

What Kind of Home Can I Buy in Catonsville for Under $300,000?  I get asked this question a lot.  When you know what's most important to you, finding a home in Catonsville that fits your budget doesn't have to be a challenge.

The answer to this question begins with whether you are looking for a home in Catonsville that is a Single Family Home, a Townhome, or a Condominium.  Keep in mind when you are searching, that although I provide neighborhood names here, not every home in Catonsville is in a named subdivision.  If you are searching online for a Catonsville home, the best way to search is by zip code: 21228 and 21229.

If you are looking for a Catonsville Single Family Home under $300,000, the neighborhoods where you will have the most success are

• Meridale Little Farms
• Westview Park
• Catonsville Heights
• Catonsville Manor
• Woodbridge Valley
• Edmondson Ridge
• Colonial Gardens. 

The home you are likely to find will be an older home on a smaller lot, but if you are lucky, you can find one that has been renovated and/or updated with a newer kitchen and bathrooms and features off street parking.  Keep in mind that these homes will be ‘starter homes', with 2 or 3 bedrooms, and 1 or 2 bathrooms.

If you are looking for a Catonsville Townhome under $300,000, you are going to find that they are most likely to be the ‘rowhome' style, built in the 1930's up until the 1990's, and will generally have 3 Bedrooms and 1 Bathroom.  The nicer units will have 2 Bedrooms, a finished basement, and will probably not have a garage, although you might get lucky, as there are a few communities that have garage townhomes in Catonsville.  The neighborhoods to look in include:

Oak Forest in Catonsville, MD - Homes with a History Near Patapsco Valley State Park Hilton Area

Just south of Frederick Road in Catonsville, and East of Rolling Road is the historic community of Oak Forest.  Many of the homes in this neighborhood are old, older and very old - some of them stately Victorians dating back more than 100 years.

Catonsville has the benefit of proximity to the big city of Baltimore, while keeping its unique small-town qualities.  Created in the late 18th century by Richard Caton, the modern center of Catonsville retains its historic character with a recently restored traditional Main Street.  Annual Events are well known in the area and include the Taste of Catonsville, Frederick Road Fridays, Crab Feast, Arts and Crafts Festival, Santa House and the extremely popular Catonsville 4^th of July Parade and Fireworks.  This year Catonsville will celebrate its 200^th birthday, and the 4^th of July parade is certain to reflect the spirit of this anniversary.  Find out more about Catonsville events at www.catonsville.org.

The Oak Forest Area of Catonsville has easy access to Baltimore 695 Beltway, Interstate 95, and is a very quick trip on 195 to the Baltimore Washington Airport, and AMTRAK, MARC commuter service and MTA Bus Lines and Light Rail.  Also located nearby are the Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC) and University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC).

Oak Forest homes are just steps from the Hilton Area of Patapsco Valley State Park.  With a recycled tire playground, camping areas, pavilions and miles of wooded trails, you won't have to go far to enjoy the best of Maryland's State Parks.  Also located nearby is the Rolling Road Golf Club, a challenging, private 18 hole golf course.
